Description

Set in 1989, Lisa Frankenstein follows Lisa Swallows (Kathryn Newton), a goth-leaning high school senior grappling with the trauma of her mother’s murder and a strained family life. Seeking solace in an abandoned cemetery, Lisa inadvertently reanimates a Victorian-era corpse (Cole Sprouse) during a lightning storm. Naming him “The Creature,” she conceals him in her home, embarking on a journey to restore his humanity using parts from her peers. As their bond deepens, Lisa’s transformation from a reclusive misfit to a confident individual mirrors The Creature’s evolution. Together, they navigate the complexities of love, identity, and the consequences of tampering with life and death. The film blends elements of horror and comedy, drawing inspiration from 1980s teen films and classic monster tales.
